About Dan Lesniak

I graduated from the Naval Academy (2002), University of Maryland (2003) and Georgetown University (2010 MBA). In the Navy I served as a submarine officer on the USS TENNESSEE and did one tour at the Pentagon. When I left the service I became a defense contractor. While I was successful, I realized it was not my passion. Having been a real estate investor for nearly a decade, I decided to get my real estate license to fuel this side hustle. I loved helping people put deals together and a few months after getting my licenses my side job became my main job. In my first year as a full time agent I created the Orange Line Living brand and sold over $22 million in real estate, with nearly all of it in one zip code. I documented this success in The HyperLocal, HyperFast Real Estate Agent, which went on to be a best selling book and has helped thousands of real estate agents.

At the end of 2012 I made my first hire and started building a real estate team. At the same time I also started a title company. In 2013 I met Keri Shull, another top agent in my area, and we soon became partners in life and business. Later that year we merged our teams and in 2014 we were one of the top four teams worldwide for Keller Williams. In 2015 we left Keller Williams to start an independent brokerage, Optime Realty. That year we became the number one real estate team in Virginia and one of the top 35 nationwide. Since then our team has continued so sell over $200 million in sales per year and unlike most teams at our level, the profit margin has remained consistently in the 35% range, making us one of the most profitable real estate sales programs.

I have also been active in real estate investing for several years. Some of the projects I have invested in and/or raised capital for included single home development in Arlington county, land development deals in Maryland and short term vacation rental investments in Florida. I have also invested in several real estate technology companies and funds.

While I love the businesses I am involved in my biggest joy is in spending time with my family and friends and pursuing my hobbies. Keri and I have two children, Braden (2.5 years) and Kierra (7 months) that fill our lives with joy. I also spend a lot of timing training and competing in Ironman distance triathlons.
