This month, the Accelerator Member Spotlight goes to Sean Egan (USMA ’94)!
After graduating from West Point in1994, Sean served as an officer in the Army Corps of Engineers for just over 11 years in locations including the United States, Germany and Iraq. Sean was recognized for his high performance with early selection to the rank of Major. A talent for leading diverse, multi-functional teams to deliver complex projects and meet all deadlines on or under budget while safeguarding other’s wellbeing and the protection of the environment is what sets Sean apart.
The expertise, experience and distinction Sean acquired in the military led to a successful career in the oil industry. Sean recently graduated from the University of Oklahoma with an MBA and currently works as Project Manager at Amp Americas, a company that is pioneering in the renewable transportation fuel industry with a vision to accelerate the global transition to 100% renewable fuels by harvesting energy from waste materials. But, there is more to Sean’s amazing story!
The challenging impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic left Sean searching for a new job, but also propelled him into real estate investing. He’d seen family members benefit from property investments over the years, but the rigors of military life and demanding job roles meant he never had the time to figure out how to invest in property himself. After learning about the Real Estate Investing Accelerator while job hunting on LinkedIn, Sean decided to take the plunge and sign up for the course!
Sean not only found a new job that he enjoys, but he is also turning his real estate investing dreams into reality! Since joining the Real Estate Accelerator, Sean completed the purchase of his first investment property and opened up a self-directed IRA. If that’s not impressive enough, he and his wife are also in the process of purchasing their forever home. Now, that’s what we call real estate success! Sean is convincing us that West Point grads really do know their stuff and we love learning from his experiences. He is quickly turning his newfound knowledge into profitable action and we can’t wait to witness his continued success!
